Allithwaite
Cllr Mike Lamb – Chair
Mike lives in Allithwaite and spent a few years in the forces before continuing his career in the NHS as a Critical Care Nurse. After being made redundant Mike joined VSO and several other agencies to work in the Balkans and Africa. Mike is a keen fell runner and has completed the Joss Naylor Lakeland Challenge but failed miserably on the Bob Graham!
Cllr Mark Pendlebury
Mark is married and lives in Cartmel, spending most of his career in the marine oil industry travelling the world in various sales and marketing roles. Mark also headed a global department for an international energy company and was based in London, in 2007 he qualified as a health & safety practitioner.
In his spare time, he enjoys live music, local history, long walks, trips to the Lakes and taking his boat out on Windermere. Mark is passionate about wildlife, the environment, clean streets, diversity, promoting and encouraging local businesses and making our neighbourhood a better and safer place for all.

Cllr Steve Sim
Retired Ambulance Service Manager (30 years) and NHS Counter Fraud Officer.
Presently Chair of Cumbria County Council Standards Committee and sits on Cumbria County Council School and Exclusions Panel, driver for Cumbria Health on Call (CHoC) and Magistrate.
Interests: allotment, gardening, cycling and reading, charity work. Part of the Fred Whitton Challenge management team.

Cartmel with Upper Holker
Cllr Barry Dean
Residing within the Cartmel Conservation Area for the past 15 years, I have enjoyed family connections with the village for more than 60 years. Qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor, I established my own practice in Rochdale, eventually employing up to 20 colleagues, specialising in valuations, structural surveying, planning, development and rent negotiations. I was invited to head the Parish Council’s Cartmel Township Initiative sub-group from 2013 and became a Councillor in 2017. Since then I have been involved with all aspects of Council work, especially when pertaining to my past professional experience. I enjoy many interests, including gardening, walking, the gym, cooking, together with voluntary work at the Priory Church and the Cartmel Village Society.
Cllr Ruth Donally
I was born in the area and have lived in Cartmel my whole life. My family also remains in the Cartmel/Allithwaite area. I recently retired from full-time work as a Quantity Surveyor working on a wide range of large scale construction projects across the UK and overseas. I have undertaken voluntary work in the area, such as the Poppy Appeal and as a Coordinator during the early stages of the COVID pandemic.
Cllr Dave Huggett
Cllr Huggett is a retired Chartered Engineer who arrived in Cumbria in 1984 having travelled extensively with work ending up working in Barrow and Kendal.
He is married with 2 children who have returned to their roots and now live and work in Kendal. Cllr Huggett was inveigled into the local community as a volunteer when his children were young, he has stayed heavily involved in a number of projects including; steering Holker playgroup through accreditation with the PPA as Chairman and becoming involved with Cartmel Priory has helped out on the Parochial council and Fabric Committee over the years helping to maintain the historic building.
In his spare(?) time Cllr Huggett enjoys walking up in the Lakeland Fells, sailing his boat on Windermere and more recently cruising slowly through the canal network. Cllr Huggett says that he is told he spends too much time talking to people but continues to enjoy helping people out where possible!

Cllr Caroline Johnson – Vice Chair
Moved to Cartmel from Bowness 35 years ago and is married with 3 grown-up children and 5 grandchildren. I am passionate about wildlife photography, my allotment, homelessness and houses for locals.
Cllr Rowena Lewis
Rowena moved to Cartmel Peninsula 3 years ago with her family. She works for a local charity with a focus on governance and safeguarding. She enjoys encouraging wildlife and rewilding and is passionate about keeping the peninsula green!

Parish Clerk – Christine Downey
Christine is a qualified Parish Clerk, with over forty years of experience as a tax accountant. She lives in North Yorkshire, enjoys the challenges of Clerking and enjoys reading, gardening and caravanning in her spare time.
