Information about the Pre-Draft Submission
The Allithwaite and Cartmel Pre-submission Draft Neighbourhood Development Plan has been published and can be viewed opposite with supporting documents. The response to the draft Allithwaite and Cartmel NDP was generally supportive of its vision, objectives and framework of policies. The consultation period and associated open days and events were published on the web site, leaflets and local press before and during the consultation period.
Following the public consultation, which was completed on 21st October 2021, the Plan, following agreement by the Parish Council, will be submitted to South Lakeland District Council together with supporting documentation, including the Consultation Statement setting out who has been consulted, how the consultation has been undertaken and how the representations received have informed the Plan, and the Basic Conditions Statement setting out how the Neighbourhood Plan satisfies the Basic Conditions of paragraph 8(2) of Schedule 4B of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.
South Lakeland District Council will then re-consult before the Plan is subjected to an Examination by an Independent Examiner. Once any further amendments have been made the Plan will be subjected to a local Referendum, and then ‘made’ part of the Development Plan by the Council and used to determine planning applications in Allithwaite and Cartmel Parish.

About Allithwaite and Cartmel

Background documents, annexes and roadmap
The Steering Group followed a defined protocol and undertook a number of consultation exercises with statutory bodies, local residents and businesses during its period of work and used or published a progressive series of documents based on views and comments submitted. These helped to provide intelligence to its work during its progress towards the finalisation of the Submission Draft Neighbourhood Plan now presented.
